One of the last Modern Limited events for the season ended with a familiar figure winning, but the field looked diverse, with the new sets sprinkled in the metagame. Heriberto Hernandez piloted his Jakeem Thunder team to a win in the south. The field was small, but showed out. Congratulations, Heriberto!
Analysis:
Finals – Thomas vs. Heriberto
Jakeem is still king as the last few days before the rotation hits comes to a close. There were the same ‘ol figures with Jakeem, Krang, Doc Ock taking spots in the Top 8, but we see Worldbreaker Hulk and Man-Thing take a spot as well. It’s good to see the newer figures making a splash, and it will only be more prevalent once rotation hits.
