Brazil hosted a National Cup and had a great turnout. 34 players battled it out in the post-Watchlist Modern metagame. Jakeem still reigned supreme, while Goblin King and the Pym Pocket tank were tamed a bit. Apex Insider writer Tiago Pinto da Luz unique Wyrm team took 3rd Place in the event, while Pedro’s Jakeem/Goblin King team beat out Rafael Gouvea’s Goblin King team in the Finals to claim the title of Brazilian National Champion.

Ok, so Jakeem wins again. The metagame did not change too much. Goblin King and Jakeem were still the top 2 teams in the format, and a full 5 Jakeems were in the Top 8. Still, there was some innovation overseas with Wyrm and Punisher Van(!) in the Top 8. Once the new rules kick in, expect a drastic drop in Jakeem Thunder teams and a rise in Outwit-based teams (here’s looking at you General Lane!).
