Clixed Off is really taking off! Tylor Spees of the vaunted team has cemented himself as one of the very best players in the game. After months of playing and tweaking his Whales team, Tylor has broken through the field with a World Championship. When combined with his ROC Cup performance, Tylor is 13-1 with the team. It’s for real, folks, get used to it. Tylor beat one of the best ever to play the game in Easton Brock, in a scintillating Finals game that saw a lot of back-and-forth action. Congrats to Tylor, your 2018 World Champion!
Analysis:
The format seems to be pretty diverse, with plenty of variation in team builds, although some archetypes remain the same. Cosmic (Starro/Uni-Mind), Shredders, Sam Cap, Avengers, and Gotham City are the mainstays with variations within said archetype. There are some fringe archetypes like Dustin Seeders’s concoction, or Kent Munson’s amazing Super-Friends team (a crowd favorite). Some new pieces from the new Secret Wars set has made some impact, with Odin and Alex Wilder seeing play, while Thanos prime was on Sidelines. Modern Age seems to be in a good place right now, and with Exospex and Proxima Midnight’s Spear legal this upcoming weekend, expect to see more innovation.
