Tournament Report – 2017 ROC States (Arizona & California) – Patrick Yapjoco

Majestix - Clix O The Week 2

Patrick Yapjoco (1) by Patrick Yapjoco

After two years I was finally going to be able to play in a ROC States, and I was very excited.  I wanted to win one really bad so I just opted for the tried and true Jakeem, but not your run of the mill Jakeem, a JSA Themed Team that utilized high Defenses and efficient pieces.  Aside from Jakeem, the other 3 supporting cast are about as efficient as you can get for the point cost. They have relevant traits and can help in Themed Team PCs.  With the metagame relying a lot on Cosmic Spider-Man to bust through troubling terrain, I felt that the dual Green Lanterns and Boxing Ring would be enough to deter any attacks.  I knew that once I set up in the Ring, my following turns would snowball into an unstoppable force.  My crew and I saw that we could play in two events, Arizona and California, on consecutive weeks, so we went for it.  Arizona was played at Orc’s Lair while California was played at DJ’s Collectibles.

Arizona State Championship

Round 1 – Victor

200 Goblin King + Brainiac
62 HAHA The Joker + Supreme Intelligence
15 Skyscraper Wonder Woman
15 Skyscraper Wonder Woman
5 SHIELD Level 7 ID Card (SR Nick Fury 120)

The first of many map roll wins (I only play against two Themed Teams the entire day, both the same team/guy).  We go to the Donut Shoppe, which becomes a recurring theme throughout the event.  I set up my Boxing Ring on the lower elevation adjacent to the elevated (which became the norm until the Top 4).  I place two objects in the ring, and one outside a few squares of the Ring.  All this becomes the same set-up basically the whole event.  Once we got started I picked Earthbound/Invincible/Shapechange for Jakeem (Eclipso, remember!).  I carry him to the ring, and along with The Atom and the other Green Lantern, form a “box,” with the Light Wall markers blocking LoF to both Atom and Jakeem.

Victor just carries up Joker to the hindering, which is about 8 squares or so from the ring, picking Invincible/Perplex for the King. He ticks up the resource for Joker.  I take my shot with a Called-In Nick, turning off Invincible and pasting him for 6, putting him to the last click.  After some Skyscrapers come over and fight my guys, he takes out Atom and eventually Regens back 3 clicks, then I take them both out, then Call-In Green Arrow (since I had a window to go for the KO on GK).  I pump up GA’s Attack and Damage 1 each and cut through GK’s Invulnerability and take him out.  The rest of the game consists of me getting shots in on Joker while he clicks up the Resource.  Time is called with Joker on click 16 on the resource and having 2 Escape tokens left. Win, 1-0.

Round 2 – Tony Rodriguez

(Mystical Theme)
117 Dr. Strange, Earth’s Guardian + Eclipso + Supreme Intelligence
90 Al Jhor Dan
50 ADW Dr. Strange
35 JW Green Lantern
5 Boxing Ring

Tony is a Team Majestix guy and he rode up with us.  He is running a very unique team, he can dish out high amounts of damage with a high attack, as well as pump defenses to godly numbers.  He wins map and we go to WWII Philippines Jungle.  We set up our Rings almost adjacent to each other at a diagonal.  He slowly Sidesteps up.  I move completely up and into the Ring.  I do my “boxed in” set-up again.  He goes into his ring and tries to take a shot at one of GLs but misses (big Defenses through 2 Boxing Rings…).  From there, since we are close together, I just use HSS/Super Strength Jakeem to KO his smaller Dr. Strange and run back to my Ring.  He comes in and takes out one of GLs with his Al Jhor Dan, but now that we in combat in close proximity, and I take out the remaining big hitters in consecutive turns with Jakeem using Exlpoit Weakness and The Atom using CCE, and even Hawkman getting Called-In for some added close combat firepower, while getting the Boxing Ring bonus. Win, 2-0.

Round 3 – John

175 Wyrm + Brainiac
97 HAHA The Joker + Proteus + Supreme Intelligence
15 The Atom
5 Spider-Man ID Card (Superior Spider-Man/Cosmic Spider-Man)
5 SHIELD Level 7 ID Card (SR Nick Fury)

We are back at the Donut Shoppe and I do my normal setup.  I am curious to see how this team worked.  He takes off Wish tokens on every turn, making Joker crazy good.  I try my luck and Call-In Nick.  I shut off Super Senses on Wyrm, then pump to 6-Damage.  He rolls the Shapechange, so I shoot The Atom instead.  He slowly makes his up with his team, using Sidestep.  I change course and move from the Ring to the roof so I can better see his team.  I take a Pulse Wave shot for 4 with Jakeem, then Barrier in Wyrm, who is against the elevated terrain.  Joker tries to make his way up, but not before I finish off Wyrm with another Pulse Wave shot.  The rest of the game is Joker ticking up the Resource and me taking shots while alternating Barriers on Joker, preventing him from escaping.  Time is called with Joker having 2 Escape tokens once again. Win, 3-0.

Round 4 – Cameron Watkins

165 Jakeem Thunder + Brainiac
50 FF Jean Grey
20 Brimstone
15 Serpent Spider-Man
15 Serpent Spider-Man
35 Justice League Teleporter

Cameron just got back into the game after a long hiatus, and is clearly one of the top players in the area.  We are both undefeated (3-0) and playing Jakeem… that’s not a coincidence.  I win map again and off to the Donut Shoppe we go.  After I box myself in on turn 1, Cameron thinks hard how he wants to attack.  He decides to TK Jakeem and Call-In Cosmic Spider-Man and actually Sidesteps enough to get inside the ring to negate the modifier.  He takes a shot, at Jakeem, but still needs to hit a 9, but misses.  He does the usual TK back with Jean while one of the Serpents moves up.  I see this opportunity to go for a big shot since he didn’t pick Invincible or Shapechange.  I Call-In Nick and blast his Jakeem for 6.  I inch my team up a bit.  He picks Willpower and PC, but rolls a 2 with both of his rolls.  He sends the Punishers up to attack, but they miss (high Defenses!).  Next turn I just pick HSS and KO Jakeem.  Brimstone comes in Poisons and actually connects with a 5 on his Retaliation.  But from there, it was all but over as the support comes in and KO’s Brimstone, and Jakeem Poisons the pogs and Pulse Waves Jean for close out the Swiss Rounds.  Win, 4-0.

Top 8 – Wes

175 Goblin King
62 HAHA Joker + Supreme Intelligence
15 The Atom
8 Pym Pocket Tank
??
Sideline: Pym Particle Tank

After a brief break, it’s time for Single-Elimination. I go up against the second Goblin King team (this guy was Watchlisted, right?), and my third HAHA Joker/Supreme Intelligence.  I do my regular opening on the Donut Shoppe, then I Running Shot on The Atom form the rooftop, taking him out.  He had moved to the far side of his Starting Area, away from the rooftop.  He TK’s Goblin King and takes a shot at Green Lantern for a KO inside the ring.  He picks Charge and Invincible, but misses after some PCs on both sides.  The next turn, with the combination of Hawkman and Jakeem, Goblin King goes down.  After the big gun was taken out I just spent the rest of the game KO’ing his team.

Top 4 – Tony Rodriguez

(Mystical Theme)
117 Dr. Strange, Earth’s Guardian + Eclipso + Supreme Intelligence
90 Al Jhor Dan
50 ADW Dr. Strange
35 JW Green Lantern
5 Boxing Ring

I meet up with Tony again, but this time I win the map roll and we go back for some donuts! We set up our rings on the rooftop.  I immediately go up there while he slowly inches forward going to the opposite side.  He knows not to go on the roof and fight ring vs ring from last game.  After some positioning, I Call-In Cosmic Spidey and KO his small Dr. Strange through his Barrier.  He counters by KO’ing my Spider-Man.  After more positioning, I set up a shot with my Nick Fury Call-In on his Al Jhor Dan, who is rocking a 21 Defense with Invincible.  I need to get points back so I set up Nick for a 13-Attack/5-Damage, and turn off his Invincible.  I have up to 3 PCs to hit the 8 I need to KO Al Jhor Dan, and on the 3rd try I hit the 8 and down goes Al Jhor Dan.  He takes a shot at Jakeem and hits for 6, but I just carry him back on the roof and heal up in the ring.  He eventually has to come up and by then, I am all set-up and use the ring’s bonuses to take down the rest of his team with all 4 figures in subsequent turns.

Finals – Cameron Watkins

165 Jakeem Thunder + Brainiac
50 FF Jean Grey
20 Brimstone
15 Serpent Spider-Man
15 Serpent Spider-Man
35 Justice League Teleporter

I face Cameron again, and this time he has a different plan.  We go to the Donut Shoppe yet again, and this time he TKs/moves to the rooftop.  I quickly follow, but not before I take out his Atom.  After some re-positioning, where he finds his Jakeem in my ring, he Calls-In Firestorm and tries to take a shot at my Jakeem, attempting to take off Eclipso.  He nearly hits, but the 21-Defense holds up with some PCs to back it up.  I then turn my attention to Jean Grey and manage to KO her after some Poison and CCE from The Atom.  I set-up a single target Pulse Wave on his Jakeem for 4, then use my GL’s Barriers to keep Jakeem in the ring while he clears.  I then wall up again, set up for the single-target Pulse Wave and push my Jakeem to finish off his Jakeem.

California State Championship

Round 1 – AJ Pfeifer

152 Jakeem Thunder + Supreme Intelligence
75 Goblin King
50 FF Jean Grey
15 ID Cards:
-Spider-Man (Cosmic Spider-Man)
-SHIELD Level 7 ID (SR Nick Fury)
-Nightwing (LE Nightwing 100)

AJ is one of my Apex Insiders writers. He is one of the best players in San Diego and flew up with a buddy. He was rocking the quintessential Jakeem/Goblin King/FF Jean Grey.  This is the staple team of the format currently.  I win the map (per usual) and we get some donuts at the Donut Shoppe!  I do normal setup and he decides to try and come in with a HSS attack from Jakeem to take out one of GLs.  He TKs with Jean and in comes Jakeem.  After some PCs, he misses and TKs back with Jakeem.  He Barriers up with Goblin King.  Since he smartly defended my counterattack, I just Sidestepped up and wall’d up and passed.  After he clears, I take a shot with Nick on Jean, pumping to a 5-damage.  Down she goes.  I then wall up again.  After some back and forth, and some positioning where I prevent his single target Pulse Wave, I am able to take out the team as we inched closer together.  Win, 1-0.

Round 2 – Clay Wood

147 Iceman + Eclipso + Supreme Intelligence
65 Nighthawk Prime
35 Overdrive
25 FF Domino
15 The Atom
5 Boxing Ring
5 Nightwing ID (Nigthwing)

Clay is a Majestix teammate, having played with him in 3 straight Team World Championships and all great finishes.  He is probably the best Sealed player I know.  He is playing a unique Iceman team, the one that Derek Thompson made famous.  I win the map roll and we back to the Donut Shoppe. I place my ring on the roof while Clay places his on the ground.  I move up and wall up, blocking the ladder.  He shoots the barrier token with Iceman, then makes a vehicle and carries his whole team in the ring.  He decides to Sidestep with Iceman through Jakeem instead of GL, and attempts to attack. I roll the Shapechange… He is stuck, and I Call-In Nick, and after some attacks, Iceman is on his last click.  He Regens back up a couple of clicks, then succeeds in locking down Jakeem with the Ice Wall. He retaliates with his Atom, but misses.  The next turn, GL and my Atom KO Domino and his Atom.  I ended up choosing Plasticity and Shapechange with Jakeem so Charged Up had a harder time getting away, and since Iceman was two squares away, he would not be able to do his thing so he clears after Charged Up missed the breakaway rolls, which left my Jakeem free to counterattack.  The next couple of turns ended up with Jakeem getting a shot and KO’ing Iceman, and the rest of the team going down. Win, 2-0.

Round 3 – Chris Pribanick
(Justice League Theme)
90 EW Superman
60 EW Batman
85 EW Green Lantern + Brainiac
60 EW Green Lantern
5 SHIELD Level 7 ID
Sideline: All Shifting Focus Batman and Superman, Peggy Carter

Chris is another Majestix team member, although he just recently got back into the game and competitive scene.  He is playing our team that we have been working on, and he is currently 2-0, which is a good sign for the team.  He wins the map roll and we go the Grid Reality Sewers.  I place my ring in the middle of the map, knocking down some walls.  He moves about a third of the way up, while I move into the ring.  He decides to go for it and pushes the equipped GL after a Perplexed up attack from Batman and Pulse Waves my entire team with knockback.  He follows up with a Quake attack from Superman and one of GLs is quickly down to the last click.  His last attack for a single target Pulse Wave on my Atom misses.  After that beating, I come back with a KO attack on his Superman since he forgot to shift of the Defense Superman(!).   I just wall up and base his GL without the equip.  He attacks with Batman, but misses.  He has to clear.  I go back into the ring and turn my attention to his equipped GL.  I Call-In Hawkman and hit his GL, but the knockback from the attack prevented me from getting the KO with Jakeem.  Instead, his GL is on the last click, and after a Regeneration roll of 6(!), both GLs come back into the fray and my team gets Pulse Waved again.  Batman takes out a GL, but his kill shot on my Atom missed.  We are all in the ring now, and I Call-In Hulk with Jakem and he pastes a GL, while Jakeem finishes off the remaining GL the next turn.  Then, Atom and Jakeem finish off Batman, who had no choice but get in the ring after the GLs went down. Win, 3-0.

Round 4 – Stephen Holland-Chang
177 Jakeem Thunder + Eclipso + Supreme Intelligence
50 Bizarro Green Arrow
35 Overdrive
15 The Atom
20 ID Cards:
-SHIELD Level 7 (Hulk/Nick/Hawkeye)
-Spider-Man (Cosmic Spider-Man
-Nightwing (LE Nightwing)
-??

Stephen, aka Symbio online, is probably the best player in Norhtern California (Alan Mason might have something to say about that, though).  He runs the T3 Podcast and is a huge enabler in the Heroclix scene up north.  He is playing a Jakeem team with Bizarro Green Arrow, who, as well know, can be very annoying to deal with.  I decide to go to the ROC Blue Line and use all the blocking terrain to my advantage.  I place the ring in the middle, but move one side. He creeps up, making sure to Keep BGA next to both Jakeem and Charged Up.  I get a shot off on his Atom with my Cosmic Spider-Man for the early lead.  He counters by doing the same, but shooting at my Atom instead.  He misses the 7 he needs for the lead back.  With tempo in my favor, he is forced to move up and blocks with BGA.  This is where I do the Green Arrow trick (slightly cooler than the Hawkeye trick).  I choose Outwit and Enhancement with Jakeem and Outwit BGA’s special power.  I Call-In one-arm Ollie and pump the damage to with RCE/Enhancement and one-shot his BGA.  Talk about archer on archer crime!  I wall up and he comes in with Hulk to try and hit Jakeem, but misses the 8 he needs.  At that point, I am able to KO Charged up and keep Jakeem at bay with Barriers and eventually do 2 Pulse Wave attacks for the win.  Win, 4-0.

Round 5 – Jesse Cote
102 Mini Shredder + Supreme Intelligence
100 SF Deadpool + Eclipso
50 Peace Machine
35 Dormammu
10 ID Cards:
-Superman (Boxing Superman)
-??

At the 4-0 bracket, there is a cool “undying” team that has been wrecking the whole day.  Jesse is one of the top players from up in northern California and has beaten two Jakeem teams so far, but I don’t think he was prepared for the infinite wall Jakeem version that I was running.  I win map (naturally) and we go back to the Blue Line.  I again put the ring in the middle then move up and position with Walls so that he has to overextend with Mini Shredder to even get one damage through on my Atom (my GLs couldn’t be based and Jakeem had Invincible).  He does so and pings my Atom for one.  I pick Earthbound again and I move my entire team across the map so I can take a shot at Dormammu the next turn.  The Walls again prevent Mini from getting in.  So, he clicks the resource to the Phasing click. By the time his Deadpool and Mini get close, I Call-In Green Arrow and take out Dormammu.  Mini gets in but after some Poisons and pot shots with my other 3 guys, Mini goes down and resurrects, but not before he and Deadpool take out my Atom and a GL.  Jakeem takes out Mini with a Flurry attack and it’s on to Deadpool.  After some positioning and Jakeem taking one hit, I use Pulse Wave and Force Blast to finish off Deadpool. Time is called before I could turn my attention to Peace Machine. Win, 5-0.

Top 16 – Eric Kauffman
105 LE Dr. Octopus
65 Nighthawk Prime
55 Renet Tilley
50 FF Jean Grey
20 Night Nurse
5 Boxing Ring

After a short break, we are into the Top 16.  I get to finally play against a Doc Ock team, and this one was unabashed and in your face.  He can reach the other side in one turn, but puts all his eggs in one basket, so to speak.  I win the roll and choose the new ROC States map (the Logan map!).  We place our rings on the ground, next to each other.  I just move up on the roof and shell up like normal.  There’s no way for me to stop him getting to me, so I might as well position for a Counterattack.  He does his move of double TK Tilley and Ock to the ring.  Ock takes off his Tentacle tokens.  Tilley carries him up and does his Flurry on my back row, but only manages to KO one GL with 4 attacks. He Sidesteps with Tilley, carrying Ock safely to the ground, away from my LoF.  My next turn I KO Tilley with Jakeem and Wall up Ock.  After some positioning and pot shotting, his Ock is on Click 5, while I lose The Atom.  He tries to set-up a retreat with Jean and Night Nurse coming to the roof, and Nighthawk coming into the fray to try and slow down and disrupt Jakeem.  I use Poison and Pulse Wave to KO Nighthawk and turn my attention to Doc.  He eventually makes it to the Night Nurse, but not before I bring GL and Jakeem within a couple of squares and Outwit Night Nurse’s Support.  He tries to block LoF so he can heal next turn, but GL KO’s Night Nurse with a little Enhancement from Jakeem.  That’s basically it as he can’t heal Doc anymore and a full Jakeem is more than a match for both Jean and Doc at this point.  Win.

Top 8 – Clay Wood

147 Iceman + Eclipso + Supreme Intelligence
65 Nighthawk Prime
35 Overdrive
25 FF Domino
15 The Atom
5 Boxing Ring
5 Nightwing ID (Nigthwing)

It’s a rematch from Round 2!  After knowing what his team is capable of, I opt for the Blue Line map.  We both our rings in the middle of the map and after I KO his Atom with Cosmic Spider-Man and wall up, he is forced to make a move.  He breaks a wall and comes in with the crew (minus Nighthawk), but he can only Sidestep through a GL, and KO’s him.  This is great for me as I have a turn with Jakeem to do some serious damage.  I have 3 actions, and if all hit, Iceman is KO’d and the game is essentially over.  I would need 6s or 7s at most.  I choose Outwit and Battle Fury with Jakeem to offset the Shapechange from Iceman.  I Outwit Iceman’s Invulnerability.  I place a Barrier marker for the -1 Defense next to Iceman. Jakeem needs a 6 to hit.  I roll a Crit Hit, putting Iceman to the last click!  This makes it much easier now, as I only need to hit one of 2 attacks to KO Iceman (with 2 PCs no less).  I Sidestep The Atom up close and attack, needing a 6.  Miss. PC from Jakeem. Miss. Theme PC from GL. 6.  Iceman KO’d. He concedes as he knows he cannot deal with Jakeem at this point.  Win.

Top 4 – Alan Mason

152 Jakeem Thunder + Supreme Intelligence
75 Goblin King
50 FF Jean Grey
15 ID Cards:
-Spider-Man (Cosmic Spider-Man)
-SHIELD Level 7 ID (SR Nick Fury)
-Nightwing (LE Nightwing 100)

Alan is probably one of the top two players in northern California and is coming off great finishes at Worlds and Nationals this year (Top 4 and Top 16).  He was also the inaugural California State Champion. I have my work cut out for me, to say the least.  He is rocking the quintessential Jakeem team of the format and has made it to the Top 4 so far.  I win the map roll and we are at the Donut Shoppe (tired of that yet).  I take a different approach this game because I respect Alan’s skill in the game.  I move onto the roof to make it tougher to take a shot.  I give him an option to get a single-target Pulse Wave, which looked to me he was considering, but decided against it because Jakeem would be stuck on the roof for the counterattack.  He just creeps up instead.  Unlike AJ, he gave a shot at Goblin King.  I weigh the options, knowing that I will take a huge hit on the counterattack, but Jakeem will still be kicking.  I choose Pulse Wave and Running Shot and go for the single-target shot on Goblin King for the KO.  I move my entire team up close for as much protection as possible.  I try and set-up a wall, but I know that won’t stop Nick.  On his next turn, he predictably Calls-In Nick and turns off Jakeem’s ESD.  He pumps Nick’s damage to a 6 (Perplex/Enhancement) and blasts my Jakeem to the first Regeneration click.  I knew this would happen, so on my next turn I pick Sidestep and Invincible, pick PC from Eclipso and Sidestep back.  I place a Barrier in front so Nick can’t see.  I Regen and roll a 4, which is good enough as it gets Jakeem back to functioning again.  I place another Barrier and move The Atom next to him to protect from any single-target Pulse Waves on his end.

He just takes a shot at The Atom with Jean (free TK), but misses.  He Sidesteps away and clears.  My next turn, I further set up defensively as I put Jakeem in a box with a full Barrier and surround him with the rest of my team while he clears.  He TKs with Jean and single-target Pulse Waves a GL and pastes him.  He TKs back and Sidesteps as far away from me, towards the edge of the map on his side.  I use this chance to go for the big swing.  I set-up for my own single-target Pulse Wave by separating Jean from Jakeem with my own Barrier.  I now have Running Shot from Eclipso and hit Jakeem for 4.  I rush The Atom over to base Jean and Jakeem.  He clears.  I set up for another single-target Pulse Wave for the finish. Win.

Finals – Diego Bermudez

(Past Theme)
120 Nick Fury
100 Zatara
50 FF Jean Grey
15 HENRY
15 ID Cards:
-Batman (Leatherwing)
-Superman (Boxing Superman)
-Spider-Man (Cosmic Spider-Man)

This match was recorded so you can watch it on T3’s Youtube page.  I didn’t expect to see a lot of Nick Fury, let alone the Finals, but Diego is playing a Past theme team, similar to the Devil Dinosaur ones that have been popping up.  He wins the map and off we go to Wakanda!  I set-up my ring in the middle of the map and after he slowly inches forward, I move all the way in the ring, and set up walls.  He sends Nick in with Jean Grey, then he Calls-In Leatherwing and tries to go for an Energy Explosion attack on my shell.  After some PCs on both sides, he misses.  He then TKs Nick back to “safety” with Jean and Leatherwing disappears.  He ends the turn using Zatara’s power to Perplex up Nick’s defense by +2.

I see that his Nick is open for a kill, so I choose Outwit and Enhancement with Jakeem, Call-In my own Nick (who is outside of the ring), Sidestep up The Atom next to Nick, and pump his Damage to 6 (trait, SHIELD team ability, Enhancement).  Zatara’s special power is Outwitted by Jakeem, his Nick’s Shapechange is turned off, and I have a full 3 PCs to roll a 6 against his 1.  After some PCs on both sides, his Nick is gone.  I wall up again to keep Jakeem safe.  After a round of clearing and me shelling up again, he send Zatara inside this time and Calls-In Superman.  He brings in HENRY for added damage.  After some PCs again, he misses his attacks again!  Well, the next turn, Jakeem with Flurry takes care of Zatara (who was separated from Superman), then eventually HENRY.  I go after Jean with Green Arrow later on for the win. Win.

That was one of the tougher tournaments I have been a part of.  It reminded me of the super high level tournaments like ROC Cup or Worlds because of not only the amount of players, but the amount of QUALITY players I had to go through to win.  California knows how to party!

Closing Thoughts

The team performed about as good as I could have hoped for.  16-0 is about as good as it gets, I suppose.  The high Defense constantly kept me out of trouble, and with multiple PCs at my disposal, I was able to turn hits into misses and my missed attacks into crucial hits.  The support pieces didn’t attack as much as I thought they would, but Jakeem is just powerful that he is basically a One-Man-Army.  The various ID options gave me plenty of flexibility, although Green Arrow underperformed as most of the time he was going up against entity-equipped characters or Super Senses or ESD.  The Green Lanterns by far are a bargain for what they can do. The free Barrier was a lot times enough for me to get the hit, and the protection they bring with said Barrier and the Simpler Time trait for my team to utilize.  Add the Boxing Ring to the mix and it is nigh-impossible to get a clean shot on my team.  Every Cosmic Spider-Man was nullified due to the combination of Ring and Light Wall Marker.  I can say for certain that being able to win map and having extra PCs gave me security as well as familiarity in that I knew the map well.  A lot of my rounds my opponent kind of looked at the team and kind of wondered how it can do so much, but it can do more than one would think.  This team is great in the mirror as most opposing Jakeems will not be able to crack the Defense easily (this can) and almost completely nerfs Cosmic Spider-Man due to the ESD/Boxing Ring combo.  With the new rules, I think this is still a great option for the metagame, but we will have to see how much Jakeem is hurt by it.  I know it was long, but hopefully you got some insight on how defensive teams like this function.  Thanks for reading, and remember, when in doubt, Perplex the Attack.
