There’s no way around it, alpha strikes are the current wave in the meta. And while the HARRY LELANDs, DOOMs, and BISHOPs might be starting to pop up more in an attempt to stop getting run over turn 2, at 300 points it’s going to be impossible to guard against everything. With the amount of pieces and fun combos in Bronze Age, almost every tournament you’re going to look across the table and think ‘Crap. Wasn’t expecting that one.” Today, as I dive into Breaking the Meta, instead of countering what other people are playing, I choose to join the dark side, and take a deep dive into those alpha strike teams.
