Let’s start off with our map list. Due to the Modern Age rotation our Map List has shrunk a bit. We always try and keep a good portion of Modern maps on our list. If there happens to be a problematic or oppressive map it won’t last long in our format. With the most recent update to our Map List, we have removed all of the maps that have recently rotated out. We also have removed some of our older Majestix maps. We do have staples that will always be on our list. All of the Location Bonus maps we’ll be staying on our list, along with Arcades Arena. The reason for these maps staying on is because they are game elements you can pay for or have an effect because of a character. Currently, from modern we have maps from X of Sword through DC Notorious. As always as new sets come out we will add on some more maps.

Now let’s get onto our Ban List. There’s a lot of thought that has gone into this. Everything is on here for a reason whether it’s a game element that takes too long, the language on the card doesn’t convert to the new rules, has a weird interaction with the current state of the game, causes an unfun experience for the opponent to where they don’t get to play their team or is just downright degenerate. There are two updates to the ban list. We have removed the Judgment tarot card from the list because Wizkids made an errata on the card to make it fair. They made the change that the max mission points you can gain in the turn is 3, compared to the unlimited amount you could have done before. The second change to our ban list is the addition of Scarab (WW80064). In the Bronze Age format there is a lot of shenanigans that you can combo with him. One of the tricks that people were doing was using Mad Jim Jaspers and the Rocket Launcher from The Punisher Van. The Rocket Launcher is on the sideline and bypasses the restriction of your starting force. Also, when Scarab copies the equipment, it doesn’t KO so he can use it turn after turn. He can do all this without leaving his starting area. Scarab also has access to all the Mandarin Rings along with numerous other equipment that make his play style a very one sided interaction. As always, our hope with the ban list is to give team builders an opportunity to build creative teams and not necessarily have to worry about gatekeepers. So, all of you who have complained about Scarab preventing you from playing Bronze Age, time to put your money where your mouth is!
