Sometimes just when a new set is being spoiled its worth looking back on the existing metagame to get a sense of where things stand. This is important when viewing new figures because it gives you a lens through which to compare he new hotness coming out.
To help with this I have compiled this primer on what I consider the top ideas of the current modern metagame.
