Player Spotlight: Easton Brock – Aaron Cantu

Player Spotlight

Aaron Cantu (1)by Aaron Cantu

Easton is one of my best friends in the game. He thinks a lot like I do when building teams, and is just all around a fun guy to be with. Further, he is a ferocious competitor and one of the most beloved guests we have had on the podcast, Two Clicks form KO. He is the the Prince of the ROC, Easton the Beastin’ Brock.

Who are you?

Easton Brock, Eastb11 on realms.

When/how did you begin playing Heroclix?

I got into the game when I was 7 years old, so about 12 years ago. My dad bought a starter for my brother and I. Once we got into it and started playing, there was no stopping us.

Where do you regularly play?

Top 4 - Easton Brock

The Prince of the ROC

JC’s House of Cards in Huntsville, AL

What is your favorite thing about Heroclix?

Hands down the community. The people you meet are so diverse and friendly, it really astounds me.

Have you had any major accomplishments you want to note?

I have a few ROC Super Q wins to my name and a WKO win (constructed). Although I am constantly striving to win one of the bigger tournaments.

What are your thoughts on the recent change to Modern Age?

As of right now (Month of June) I think it will be a Zombies and Quinjet World. These pieces are just so dominant and they have been around long enough for people to know how to use them effectively.

Did you be attend the 2016 World/U.S. National Championships? If so, how many times have you attended this event?

I will be attended and played in both this year. This was my first Nationals and second Worlds.

What were you most looking forward to at Origins Game Fair?

Seeing my friends. Nothing beats hanging out after or between events and having a good time with the people I hardly ever get to see. People like Patrick, Kevin, Paris. Every time I see these guys we pick up a conversation like it was just yesterday. On top of that I look forward to making new friends as well.

What were you playing in the constructed portion of the events ?

Quinjet. I have piloted it (heh) with success a few times, once with batteries still around. I think it is so well rounded, and extremely hard to kill.

What did you expect to see played?

Quinjet and Zombies, with a small dose of Round Table builds. Not to mention the sleepers that some people will have success with.

What advice can you give a new player or a player looking to enter their first competitive event?

Never give up. I have seen so many games turn around in just one dice roll. The smallest thing can totally flip a game around, so even if things are looking grim, continue to look for ways to turn the tides.

What would you like players to know about you ?

I write articles for Majestixccg.com! You guys should go check it out as some of the best players I know post their articles their too! You can definitely learn a thing or two.
