With all of the attention going towards Origins last week, did you know there was a Super Qualifier in Houston, Texas also happening? 28 players from around the area entered the event, but it was a familiar face, Colt Baldridge, who won the tournament with a Krang build. He took on all comers, including hometown heroes Team Curators of Cataclysm.

Analysis:
The format is still in its early stages of development, but one thing is certain: Krang is here to stay. From impressive showings at ROC States as well as at U.S. Nationals and Worlds, this particular Krang list is quickly becoming the “stock list.” The field had Quinjets and Super Skrulls, but a couple of archetypes have come up. First is the Chase Turtles teams with their impressive stats and their traited Impervious. This could be a player. The second one is the runner-up team of White Lantern Martian Manhunter and Nighthawk Prime. As you can see, there is plenty of innovation in this format, and will be even more exciting once the next rotation hits, and Superior Foes of Spider-Man releases. I expect to see an uptick in Nighthawk Primes in the foreseeable future, as he is slotted quite nicely in the format right now.
