The eighth stop on the Majestix Open Series event brought us to the farthest east the series has gone, to Colorado, home of Smetch Rat Games. Formidable players such as current ROC World Champ Daniel Powell, 2-time U.S. National Champion Dustin Seeders, and Colorado State Champion Matthew Trujillo were in attendance. Two grindy, well-fought games brought Daniel Powell the victory to claim his spot in the Invitational.
Analysis:
1st Place – Daniel Powell
More tent-poles in this one as well, with the Yellow (Sinestro Corps) Power Battery the weapon of choice for many, with two making the Top 4. Another OMA almost took home the win, with Matthew Trujillo’s Goblin King nearly took out Dan’s well-balanced team. Speaking of which, Dan utilized the power of Splitlip + Uru Forge to “forge” him any weapon for any situation during the day to great effect. It’s a great innovation for the format as there are so many Relics to look through to Sideline for the Uru Forge.
