19 players came from all over, including Oregon, Washington, and Southern California to compete in the first $1k of the Season. The field was small, but stacked, and the Trash Bros, Jesse Cote and Paul Cote, take home 1st and send, respectively. Jesse makes his triumphant return and showed just how powerful dice manipulation is and how strong Dark Phoenix can be in Bronze Age.
Analysis:
Champion – Jesse Cote
The format keeps evolving. Dice Manipulation is the name of the game, and Jesse took advantage of that to the fullest. Along with Power Plant, Jesse was blowing up Resources left and right. Chip also ran a Dice Manipulation team to a Top 8 finish. Power Batteries were still all over the place, with almost all of them being represented. Quinjet made a return of sorts, albeit in baby form. Tentpole/OMA was also well represented, which was a nice opposition to the swarm team that Jesse ran. The metagame is still wide-open, and I think that Power Plant is now on everyone’s radar.
