Top 8 Single-Elimination Bracket
The second northeast ROC is claimed by the one and only, Kennie Pena of Team Pusheen. The format was 400pt Modern Age Limited and Kennie piloted a Yondu-centric team to a clean sweep. He navigated through Nick Fury teams on his way to the top, where he met teammate Jayson Kuehn, piloting a very unique and innovative Nightlantern/Mary Marvel team (and yes, he did use the Amalgam trait!). It was Easter weekend, so the turnout wasn’t as high as it could have been, and this was a last minute announcement, but the competition was still fierce, as Super Qualifier winner Tim Burch was also in the Top 8. Congrats to Kennie Pena and Team Pusheen on a great finish!

Analysis:
This is the first Top 8 or Top 16 that we haven’t seen a Super Skrull in a long time. Nick Fury was still in abundance and in force. Mary Marvel and KC Shazam! really seem to be taking control over the new tent-pole pieces in the format. Nightlantern’s Amalgam trait was actually used to great effect, putting the movie Drax on Mary Marvel to give Battle Fury to deal with opposing Nick Fury easier, as well as Flurry when she is up close.
