The first weekend of major events with the new rules, and it’s the same ol’ story. Jakeem wins. The field was much more diverse in this Top 8, with only 1 Jakeem in the Top 8, but in the end it was Jakeem that came out on the winner. Jason Osorio beat out Sean Choo and his Uni-Mind team in the Finals to become the 2017 Canada Cup Champion!

Ok, so Jakeem wins again. The format looks to be evolving with more experimenting going on here. Apex Insiders writer Jason Collins made Top 8 with a Devil Dinosaur/Al Jhor Dan team, and there were quite a few different archetypes in the Top 8. Of interest, the addition of Ajak in the format can really play a big role as many players will no be playing MANY more objects (since they can be played with Resources), and the Ajak player can decide where to place them. If more and more objects are played, expect to see Mr. Nobody pop up more and more as well.
