U.S. Nationals has concluded and we have a new Champion! Patrick Frazer, of Chicago, went through a veritable gauntlet that included 2x ROC Cup Champion Dan Powell, perennial contender and multiple time ROC winner Matty G, Canadian National Champion PJ Bolin, and World Champion (and arguably the best player in the game) Easton Brock! That is some feat! His innovative take on the Vulture and Hawkeye archetype (by combining both!) propelled him to the U.S. National Championship!
Analysis:
Most people were predicting a somewhat diverse metagame, with the addition of the new Black Panther and Illuminati set, so it was no surprise that the field included many new pieces such as ultra chase Thanos, chase Black Panther, the variety of Elders figures, but the one that stood out was Kobik. There were many teams that utilized her versatility and unique abilities. The usual suspects were in the mix (Uni-Mind, Shredders, Monsters, Avengers, etc), but it looks like Cosmic will be the pre-eminent Theme going into post-rotation.
