The third stop in the Majestix Open Series circuit was in Bountiful, Utah, home of Alpha Strike Heroclix. This was Utah’s first Super Qualifier in quite a while, and although the field was small, the competition was fierce, with great new teams arising from the new Deadpool & X-Force set. In the end, Scott Hickman won with Jakeem-less JSA team, led by Alan Scott himself, the big KC Green Lantern. He outlasted the Merc With a Mouth himself, the Title Character, Deadpool, to claim the Bountiful SQ and reserve his spot in the Majestix Regional in April. Congratulation, Scott!

Analysis:
The Deadpool set’s first weekend in tournament play did not disappoint. The much-hyped Title Character made it all the way to the Finals, with Steven Ratcliffe piloting it with Jakeem Thunder as the anchor. Along with Jakeem, Shredders are still a force to be reckoned with and good ‘ol Nick Fury just can’t seem to fade away. From the new set, we also see Hammer and Shifting Focus Deadpool make splashes. As more players test out new tech, more and more Deadpool set pieces should see play.
