Coastal Assault Super Qualifier Winner – Paris Gordon
Apex Insiders takes down another Super Qualifier! Writers Paris Gordon and Easton Brock squared off in the Finals of the Coastal Assault Super Qualifier in Fort Walton, Florida. Team Stratagem was in full force, but Team Ragnarok’s co-captain took on all comers. It was Paris’s Super Skrull against Easton’s KC Flash, with Paris pulling out the victory and avenging his loss to Easton in the Swiss Rounds. Congrats, Paris, looking forward to your tournament report!
Analysis:
Not really much has changed since the last 300pt Modern Age Limited tournament. Super Skrull, KC Flash, Nick Fury, and Highfather all made significant appearances, pieces that most people would expect. The one newcomer, however, is the new Doctor Octopus. Making a splash from last week’s 400pt tournament, Doctor Octopus is clearly viable in this format. With his point cost only at 80, having Outwit, Willpower, an under-utilized team ability, and with the potential to dish out 12-Damage in one turn, the new Sinister Syndicate figure is sure to show up on more and more lists.
