Swiss – R1 Jerry Eley, R2 Adam Tichenor, R3 Nick Wilfong, and R4 Jordan Gardner
I want to thank each of the gentlemen above for the game we had in the Swiss rounds at the Tulsa Regional. I’m not going to go into great detail for these rounds, but to a man these players acquitted themselves well and in nearly every match I was held to time and unable to sweep my opponent. I do want to give a shout out to Adam Tichenor’s team in particular, because I thought it was an extremely cool build that actually caught me off guard. I think the only reason Adam didn’t make the cut is he happened to run into myself and Nick Wilfong who both had builds that made it nearly impossible to score the majority of our points on the map. Adam played CWSLOP Sentry, CA: CW Starter Captain America at 45 points, CA: CW Redwing, and Jarvis for a named Avengers theme team, rounded out his team with a Pandora’s Box and the ID cards allowed from Jarvis. What set the team apart in my mind was how well every element synergized with the others. Just the thought of trying to brute force my way through Sentry’s dial when he’s equipped with a Sloth Relic was enough for me to concede in my mind the fact that I was not going to be able to score full points against his team.
