Welcome Everyone,
My name is David Colon and I am here to give you guys the daily updates on the Majestix Qualifier. With the unveiling of the Pods, we saw so many familiar names as well as new ones. Looks like the field is going to be a tough one, but that’s where the community gets to watch the match-ups Live as they unfold.
Without, further ado, today is the Opening day of the Qualifiers. Lets get those Highlights going!
Pod G: PJ Bolin vs. DJ Riggins
To start it off, PJ Bolin playing a variation of the Black Glove Demon and DJ Riggin playing the Penguin Swarm squaring off. I was watching this match up as it unfolded:
Highlights: Three Huge Pulse Waves from the Penguin’s Penguins took out Q Prime, Walking Woods and hurt Mr. Mxy. Mxy didn’t have enough movement to Pulse Wave everyone with his special. Mangog cleaned up the mess as well. Mr. Mxy did the Special Pulse Wave, but then Groot retaliated with a CRIT HIT! All the Pulse Waves.
DJ Riggins defeats PJ Bolin 299-40
Pod D: Anthony Barragan vs. Micheal Swank
We get to see Batman Prime and all the goodies. Batman Prime gets spin ringed to the wall from Dr. Fate. Lex/Luthor takes their shot. The rolls are not in Anthony’s favor this time. Micheal fires back with Batman Prime, then Wendigo and takes out Lex/Joker. Wendigo turns his attention to Red Leader for the win.
Michael Swank defeats Anthony 298-0
Pod B: Chip Barnett vs. Emilio Gutierrez
Unfortunately, I was unable to watch this match in full. What I did see was Jason Wyngarde creating a Ruckus Pog which took down a Mystique with a single shot pulse wave. The Mystique’s weakness.
Chip Barnett defeats Emilio Gutierrez 120-3
Pod J: David Creighton vs. Erin Young
Yes, there was so many Wendigos and Dr. Fates in this battel. Wendigo doing so much work in this fight. Erin tried to barrier keeping Wendigo’s at bay, but Wendigo critically hit Issac, then smashed Groot. Positioning was key here.
David Creighton defeats Erin Young 105-85
Pod K: Dan Powell vs. Hunter Mann
Barely caught the last part of this game. Dan Powell’s Uni-mind triple perplexed attack and took down Onslaught with Hypersonic. Yaphit positions so I.S.A.A.C can TK one of his pogs to take a shot at Uni-Mind. Uni-Mind takes the first hit, but the second attack, Uni-Mind rolls Impervious. Uni survives.
Dan Powell defeats Hunter Mann 240-155
Pod D: Bryan Dormaier vs Alyssa McNeil
This is the match that could be missed if you blinked too fast! Bryan’s Shatterstar brought over his Atoms and Captain Kirk. Kirk then gets replaced, then Close Combats Martian Manhunter to KO for free then KOs the Atom with a power close combat. Wow! What a turn! Bryan with the huge swarm engulfs the Justice League. Mangog Pulls the Sword of Odin! Yes you heard that right!
Bryan Dormaier defeats Alyssa McNeil 295-50
Pod D: Alyssa McNeil vs Anthony Barragan
Back-to-Back games from Alyssa. With Martian Manhunter’s free move, Alyssa’s Flash full move across the map with the Atom’s and took down Brainiac and Bill, Agent it AIM. Anthony’s Lex/Joker Duo Attack to the Flash knocking him out. Then the Atoms and Micron went in to a swarm against Lex/Joker. Wow!
Alyssa McNeil defeats Anthony Barragan 298-140
Pod C: Zack Strong vs. Jose Barragan
Jose brought the Astronomers with his Colossals. Zack Perplexes attack and gas canisters onto Mangog. Mangog retaliates on Dark Phoenix and is placed where he targets most of Jose’s team. Didn’t get much on attack one, goes for the second attack the same happens and then sidesteps to Pull the Odin Sword for the second time this day! Wow! Mangog was swarmed to death by Jose’s team.
Jose Barragan defeats Zack Strong 300-0
Pod C: Micheal Swank vs. Alyssa McNeil
Alyssa played her match-up while I was observing Zack’s game. Alyssa snaps back with another victory, after her first loss.
Alyssa McNeil defeats Micheal Swank 300-60
Pod C: Nate Ybanez vs. Zack Strong
Phoenix was bat signealed to blow up Overdrive’s heavy object turn one. Afterward, Mangog wipes half the field after Phoenix went for her attack. Zack then starts to ping off the Shredders one at a time. Shredders weren’t able to Charge up and full move attack.
Zack Strong defeats Nate Ybanez 300-60
Pod C: Zack Strong vs Kevin Afrooz
The return of Kevin Afrooz was tonight’s main event. Ha ha. Zack Strong Bat Signals once more to blow up the light object from the Shredders. Kevin comes back and ping off Dark Phoenix, but it does come at a price. Mangog comes and retaliates half of Kevin’s team. After hitting all of his attacks, turns his attention to Groot, knocking him out. Last Round, Kevin has that one shot to take down Grandmaster for his first win. Shark Shredder gets TK’d up, Sidesteps-pings Grandmaster and misses the attack by one! Wow! What a finish for day one!
Zack Strong defeats Kevin Afrooz 155-93
Well, that is it for today, it has been an eventful day. Haven’t seen this much Heroclix play in a long time. Thank you to all everyone for reading the highlights of the Majestix Qualifiers.
