Majestix Open Series Qualifier News Update (Day 3)! – David Colon

by David “Mr. Clixso” Colon

Hey Everyone,

This is David Colon, back at you again with Day 3 Highlights of the Majestix Qualifiers. This has been a bit slower than other days. Still the same action packed day nonetheless. So let’s get right to those highlights!

We start off with:

Pod I: Joe Alves vs. Chris Stockhaus

So many Wendigos, Surturs, Groots! Mini Shredder tried his best to survive. Many pieces were KO’d this game. We saw two huge Crit misses from both players! Joe just swarmed on Mini Shredder for the win, once Mole Man was taken down.

Joe Alves defeats Chris Stockhaus 300-140

Pod F: Matt Esbrook vs Dylan Disney

Matt’s Darkseid moves the Omega Beam onto Groot’s square. Darkseid then took down Dylan’s Groot but Dylan fired back with Surtur as he came across the map and hit Darkseid to oblivion. Surtur with a plus 3 to damage! Daredevil tried to come at the swarm but Harley made her pogs and the swarm knocked Daredevil clean out.

Dylan Disney defeats Matt Esbrook 300-45

Pod F: Matt Esbrook vs. Paris Gordon

Darkseid and Paris’s swarm was a back and forth battle. Mxy turned Surtur tiny and Invisible Jet carried Surtur with Mxy. “Free” attack on Darkseid. Pinged. The Gamma Bomb did go off. Last turn of Paris was huge. Tri-Sentinel went for the attack and forgot to Perplex the damage on Tri-Sentinel putting Darkseid on his last click as time was called. Wow! What a finish!

Matt Esbrook defeats Paris Gordon 25-5

Pod K: Hunter Mann vs. Michael Bratcher

Michael‘s Shredder Squad drives a quarter of the map. He then Sidesteps Mini into hindering. Vulture was TK’d up twice and Sidesteps and starts the party. He starts to feast on Micheal’s team. They take aim at Mini Shredder and takes him down. Game over.

Hunter Mann defeats Micheal Bratcher 300-10

Pod F: Dylan Disney vs. Lucas van Holland

Lucas did a very good job in this game. Batman Prime took out everyone he could see. Those he didn’t take out, the Robo-Penguin handled with Pulse Wave. Gamma Bomb went off and Lucas finished off the the rest of Dylan Disney’s team. Such a crazy moment to see Batman Prime take out the colossals from his own starting area.

Lucas Van Holland defeats Dylan Disney 300-0

Pod E: Craig Landers vs Richard Medina

What I did see is the last part of this game. Richard’s Captain Marvel’s and Black Widow swarm on Craig’s don’t die tech. Chewie and Captain Marvel finish off the tech.

Richard Medina defeats Craig Landers 286-25

Pod C: Jose Barragan vs. Kevin Afrooz

From what I had seen, last turn from Kevin came with an attack from Carnage to Astronomer. Missed! He isn’t like Groot where he HAS to hit. Symbiote comes out. Takes a shot at Astronomer. Missed! Kevin tried to get more points in the game. He did pull out the victory against Jose, however.

Kevin Afrooz defeats Jose Barragan 65-35

The Results from the Games I was not able to watch:

Pod I: Joe Alves defeats Matthew de Paz 300-120

Pod H Easton Brock defeats Julion Montanez 300-78

Pod B: Steve DiCarlo defeats Chip Barnett 168-150

Pod E: Paul Cote defeats Craig Landers 286-10

Pod G: Xander Mu defeats Alan Mason 300-30

Pod J: Erin Young vs George Massu

Now this was a great match up! Truly, the match for a Main Event setting. George blimps with Bill and KO’s his Suited Henchmen and equips his characters. Magneto Construct blows up some walls. George takes a shot at Fantomex, but Fantomex rolls his Super Senses to evade. George Barriers up. This happened for two turns. Finally, George makes a key move and Mind Control’s Magneto to shoot at Stellarax and EVA. He only needs a 5 and rolls a 4. Whiffed. As soon as his turn is over, time is called. George is the first player, so Erin gets his turn. Erin puts EVA in the middle of George’s team and RCE attack with Fantomex on Sharon Carter for the win. WoW! Positioning was key here for Erin.

Erin Young defeats George Massu 40-20

Well, that wraps up Day 3 of the Majestix Qualifiers. Another great day of Heroclix Gameplay! It gets better and better each day.
