Aloha from Hawaii everybody! This past weekend I got to play in (and win) my first ROC at Other Realms in Honolulu. We had a pretty small turn out (6 players) but everybody brought their A games.
My Team:

My team revolved around using Rogue as the main attacker while being supported by the rest. Rogue gets moved by Nico and Nightshade to grab the Remaker Ring then run for cover as my opening move. Shape Change and Stealth kept my guys protected, backed by a lot of support powers. Rogue and Nightshade Poison whenever they get the chance for free damage and Enchantress re-positions.
Qualifying Rounds
Round 1: SWB 58 Thanos, WKO Manta, BTAS 69 Green Lantern, Giant Girl (10pts), Stark Tower map bonus, Exospecs, Knobbed Mace.
Won map roll and put us on EX Wakanda. Thanos opens by grabbing the Exospex. Manta eliminated my Stealth, so took her out first with Rogue. Mind controlled Thanos to get him away from my team and had him kill Giant Girl. Eliminated the rest of Thanos’ support team. Only lost Nightshade and Nico.
Round 2: Venom Verse: EX Captain Venom, TMT Carnage (retaliator), EX Iron Man Venom, WI Venom Hulk, Ape Batman.
Great team that had terrible rolls. Lost map roll and played on Harley’s apartment. Captain Venom got his opening Shape Change roll on Rogue and counter attacked her the next turn. Rogue got her Shape Change roll and leaving the Captain open. Poisoned the Captain, maneuvered him away with Enchantress and then one shot him with Rogue. Rest of the Venoms went down pretty quick. Kept everyone alive.
Round 3: TMT Jane Foster, TRM 11 Odin with Enchantress’s Mirror, AI 45 Thor with Mjolnir, TMT Beta Ray Bill, Leech ID
Lost map roll and was put on Wakanda. Beta Ray Bill kept me from using range, and Thor with his hammer eliminated my Stealth advantage, attacking from 8 away with Flurry. Opened with 4-damage on Thor, but Jane healed it almost all back. Changed tactics and HSS to kill Jane. KO’d her but failed my break away (twice). This is the only round I lost (due to time). Killed Jane and Odin but lost Nightshade, Alex Wilder, the Mirror, and Nico. Got Thor and Beta Ray down to their last clix when last action was called with a healthy Rogue, Alex Wilder (back on my side), and Enchantress still alive.
Top 8: bye round
Top 4: Asgardians (again)
Had to play the same team as the last qualifier round. Won map roll this time and put us on EX Wakanda. First half of this match was us both trying to position for an attack. I had the maneuverability with Rogue, Nightshade, and Nico, but an opening attack would leave Rogue exposed. Moved up Enchantress to re-position his team so I could KO Jane with the first attack of the game, forcing him to come after me. He took out Nico, then I KO’d Thor. Rogue took some damage but healed most of it back with Steal Energy. Once Thor went down the rest of the team followed.
FINALS: CMM 21 Captain Marvel, TMT Red Leader, ADW Shifting Focus Dr. Strange, HQ 2 Big Tonys, EX Octopus Arms.
Hardest match of the day and the one I should have lost. Got map roll and put us on EX Wakanda. Captain Marvel picked up the Octopus Arms to give her Giant Reach: 2 and Flurry as her opening move. Marvel Running Shot in carrying Dr. Strange and KO’d Nightshade. Shape Change stopped her Charge/Flurry. I retaliated by re-positioning with Enchantress then Poisoning Strange. KO’d him with Rogue. Rolled a 10 so no action token due to Brotherhood of Mutants TA. Next turn HSS to KO Red Leader (rolled a 10 again, no action token). Not wanting to face Captain Marvel’s god clix yet, aimed to take out the rest of his support with Rogue (Fat Tonys helped heal Rogue with her Steal Energy), while used Enchantress pecked away at Marvel’s life. KO’d both Fat Tonys, but lost Rogue, the Mirror, Nico, leaving me with Enchantress on her last clix and Alex Wilder. At this point I thought I had lost, but Captain Marvel’s dice went cold while mine were on fire. Marvel couldn’t attack Alex as he got every Shape Change roll. Enchantress knocked Marvel down 1 click at a time. If Marvel landed an attack, I got my Super Senses. Enchantress finally knocked Marvel out of the game for the win.
